Sharing science with people is something I am very excited about. I believe by having an honest and open dialog with anyone who is not familiar with environmental sciences, we can contribute to the cultural changes necessary for preserving our most valuable resource, our planet.
Also, as a Brazilian woman who lived in different countries and experienced different cultures, I especially hope to connect with and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds to appreciate and possibly pursue science.

In this page you will find videos or snapshots of some outreach activities I was involved in.

Postdocumentaries 2016 – Postdocumentaries is a video project which started in 2015 where middle-schoolers interview Duke Postdocs about their research. The kids edit the videos and they become available on the Postdocumentaries YouTube Channel. This event is done in partnership with BOOST (Building Opportunities and Overtures in Science and Technology), which is a Duke multidimensional program designed to excite young people (6, 7 and 8th graders) – particularly underrepresented minorities, girls, and kids from economically challenged backgrounds – about science and inspire them to pursue related careers.
